November 2018

November is here and what a fun month October has been and with such beautiful weather as well. We learned about farm animals, food, fall weather, and, of course Halloween! Both classes went on fieldtrips to Galey’s Farm, which went very well, and we had fun carving the pumpkins that we brought back. Our black and orange days have been a blast, and we hope that you have all had a fun and safe Halloween!

The children are definitely getting settled into preschool now and seem to be establishing their routines. At preschool we have been practicing: using our words to help solve problems or express how we feel, using our walking feet and calm bodies to stay safe in he classroom, and using our listening ears and looking eyes to listen to, and see, the teachers and our friends when they are speaking to us. The children are starting to explore playing together, and they are learning what it means to share, include others, take turns and even show compassion towards each other.

We would like to take an opportunity to welcome two new friends that joined our preschool last month and have been lovely additions to Oakcrest. Welcome Madison and
Hayden who have both joined the MWF class! The girls have both already settled in nicely in their class and we hope that their preschool experience has been positive so far.

We would like to thank our parents for all the work that you do for your preschool jobs. We truly appreciate the volunteer time you are spending to help our preschool run smoothly. There are certain preschool jobs that are done on a monthly, or regular basis, and it would be a great help if you could connect with us to determine when is the best time each month to arrange completing those jobs. We are so thankful to have such a lovely group of families to work with! Please remember that we welcome your comments and questions anytime. Thanks so much!
